Light, interpretation and the poetics of the essential

At Antimateria Films, we believe that every project offers us the opportunity to reduce everything to the most important thing: what we feel. “1000 Preguntas,” by the band Theoria , was one of those projects where emotion wasn't built from excess, but from the light, shadow, and intention of each gesture.

The band, made up of members from Chile, Venezuela, the United States, and Mexico , represents a global vision with an independent heart. In their first official music video, they sought to capture the spirit of their music with honesty, without embellishments or forced narratives. And that led us to a clear decision from the director: not to tell a story, but to allow the performance to speak for itself.

Light as a visual language

One of the song's most powerful lines is "Puedo ver la luz aquí." And it was that very phrase that gave us the visual key: the light would not only illuminate the scene, but would be a character in itself.

The set was designed as a dark, minimalist, almost theatrical space. Through holes in opaque materials , we allowed beams of light to selectively penetrate the space, creating an intimate atmosphere, accentuated by smoke for texture and depth.

Performance as a first language

As this is Theoria's first official video, we decided not to start with a fictional narrative, but with something more pure: their performance as a band . The approach was to capture what happens when musicians encounter their music in real time, without intermediaries.

Each shot was constructed from the connection between rhythm, emotion, and lighting. No elaborate sets or figurative sets. Just music, atmosphere, and presence.

An intimate portrait for a universal song

“1000 Preguntas” speaks to the desire for companionship in the face of uncertainty. Instead of answers, there are silences, glances, and light filtering through like hope.

The shoot was also like that: an exercise in restraint, listening, and letting the song guide us. All filmed in a single day at the Agalmata Creative House studio, with a dedicated team and a clear objective: to honor what was felt more than what was said.
