Antimateria Films Directs for Ed Sheeran’s Autumn Variations

In October 2023, Antimateria Films achieved a remarkable milestone. Our founder and director, Mike Bautista, was selected by Ed Sheeran and Warner Music to direct the official music video for "The Day I Was Born," a track from Ed’s introspective album, Autumn Variations.

This project was part of a unique initiative where Ed Sheeran invited fans and filmmakers worldwide to create music videos for each of the album's 14 tracks. Out of over 4,000 submissions from 75 countries, Mike was one of the 14 directors personally chosen by Ed, representing Mexico in this global endeavor.

The opportunity came through Warner Music Mexico, who provided a generous budget and entrusted us with the creative freedom to bring our vision to life. The production was a collaborative effort, with friends and industry colleagues coming together to craft a narrative that resonates with the song's themes of self-discovery and reflection.

Directing for Ed Sheeran was not just a professional achievement—it was a transformative experience. It allowed us to explore new creative horizons, overcome challenges, and reaffirm our commitment to storytelling that connects on a human level.

Since then, we've continued to grow, collaborating with brands like Home Depot, HEB, Vinoteca, and Sports World. Each project builds upon the last, and we're grateful for the trust and opportunities that have come our way.
